THE FABULOUS ARMADILLOS

MOTOWN AND SOUL

February , 8-11  -  7:30pm

ALL SHOWS ARE SOLD-OUT!

The Fabulous Armadillos are back for their second show of the 2009-2010 season with a concert dedicated to the great soul music of Detroit and Memphis.

Motown and Soul music was one of the most requested themes from our survey in June and we're excited to bring these great tunes to Pioneer Place.  We put our heads together and came up with quite a list. So, be thinking about the Motown Music of The Jackson 5, Supremes, Miracles, Commodores, and Temptations, Stevie Wonder and more. Plus, Booker T. and the MG's, Otis Redding, Issac Hayes, Wilson Pickett, Sam and Dave and so many more from the great Stax and Hi records from Memphis, Tennessee. You'll also see some brand new special guests for this show!!

Please note that tickets are only available for the February 10 and 11 performances.  These tickets are going quickly, so please order your tickets today and come and have some more great fun with The Fabulous Armadillos!!

ABOUT THE FABULOUS ARMADILLOS

The Fabulous Armadillos featuring Slip Twister and Friends began their music series in 2006 at Pioneer Place with such classic shows as Southern Rock, The British Invasion, From The Grave, Guitar Heroes, Outlaw Rock, Psychedelic Rock, and the now infamous One Hit Wonders show. 12 Sold-Out shows in all! They returned in 2007-2008 with four more themed shows: Rhythm and Blues, Whole Lotta Lovin', Arena Rock, and One Hit Wonders II, and in 2008-2009 wowed the audiences with From The Grave, Girls! Girls! Girls!, Across The Pond, and AM Radio Gold. In November of 2009 they absolutely rocked the roof off of Pioneer Place with their tribute to the 40th Anniversary of Woodstock!!

The core band is made up of Greg "Gary D." Armstrong on the keys, Paul "Stretch" Diethelm on guitar, Mike Zeleny on bass, and the Rhinestone Cowboy himself - Jay O'Donnell on the drums. Each show features special guest musicians that fit the theme of the evening, so you never knew who was going to show up on stage. Throughout the series, more than 40 local, regional, and national musicians graced the stage. !
