From the guys who brought you "Dylan: Under The Covers", "Running Down A Dream: The Tom Petty Story" and "Born On The Bayou: A Tribute To Creedence Clearwater Revival" - Pioneer Place Theatre is proud to present the fourth and final show in this Rockumentary series brought to you by Justin Ploof and The Throwbacks. Endless Summer... The Story of The Beach Boys runs Tues-Thurs May 15-17, 2012 at 7:30pm. This "Family" group created magic using the soaring, definitive harmonies as the staple to twenty-two Top 10 hits. Their career spanned over two decades and would place them with Rock 'n' Roll royalty as they were inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1988. Among groups of the '60's, the "California quintet" placed second only to The Beatles in overall impact on the Top 40. Surf, sand, sun and fun --- Summer Begins Here!

Some featured songs you will hear are Surfin' USA, Catch A Wave, Surfer Girl, Little Deuce Coupe, Fun, Fun, Fun, I Get Around, Help Me Rhonda, California Girls, Sloop John B, God Only Knonws, I Can Hear Music, Good Vibrations ... and many more!

The Throwbacks Band Bio

Behind the music is a story --- the story, is the makings for a Rockumentary! Justin Ploof and The Throwbacks are the original authors of the Rockumentary, who along with performing the music of some history’s greats, bring you vintage footage and brief narration to accompany it. Not only will you “rock out” to the music, but you will have a number of “I didn’t know that” moments throughout the evening - a complete “blast from the past” concert experience!

The core group, Justin Ploof, Jason Ploof, and Dan Ploof have a multitude of years of professional music experience and have shared the stage with the likes of Soul Asylum, Bobby Vee, Joan Jett, Jessie Lang and the list goes on! Their incredible attention to detail and quality of musicianship will wow you from the first chord right on through to the rousing end. As they work to emulate the songs you love, you will be pleased to hear them the way the artists meant for them to be performed. Guest appearances will enhance the shows to the ultimate level of entertainment!

Central Minnesota’s own Mark (Hazzy) Hasbrouck, Brian Heying, DB Curtis, and Jim Bjorklund, are gearing up for a very special night of Neil Young and Crazy Horse music on Satuday, May 19th at 7:30pm, as Powderfinger takes the stage, with special guest Kurt "Lightning" Rodman.

Back in 2002, Hazzy, Brian, and Jim, who all played together for over a decade in the Surahoolies and were all long time Neil Young fans, decided to form a band that would play his music - just because "we love Neil's music" and thought people would like to hear it live.

powderfinger2009

Powderfinger started playing once a month to enthusiastic crowds, and have continued playing locally a few times a year. Powderfinger are known for their long jams in the spirit of Neil on gems such as "Down by the River," "Cortez the Killer" and "Cowgirl in the Sand:, as well as more popular hits like "Old Man," "Rockin in the Free World," and "Heart of Gold." Fans of Powderfinger have been known to set timers and take bets on how long Hazzy's guitar solo will be on "Cortez the Killer."
