Since opening as a music venue in 1998, Pioneer Place on Fifth has provided a performance space for musical groups of all genres and sizes — from indie solo artists to large stage regional acts like The Fabulous Armadillos. Enjoy one of our signature craft cocktails at the famous Veranda Lounge music bar, which features some of the finest aged spirits in Central Minnesota, or catch a live performance in our cutting-edge music theatre.

ST. CLOUD
Our building was originally built in 1913 for the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (BPOE). The building’s towering granite pillars and grand staircase give visitors a unique window into St. Cloud’s past and make the Pioneer Place an historic landmark to this day. On the face of the building, visitors can spot the letters “BPOE” carved in stone, as well as two clocks set permanently to 11 o’clock, when the Elks would hold a moment of silence for their fallen club members.
Today, our mission is to provide the people of St. Cloud and the surrounding communities with high-quality art and entertainment they’d normally need to drive miles to find. By offering a music venue to both established and up-and-coming artists, Pioneer Place hopes to foster the development of the St. Cloud and Central Minnesota arts scenes.

Happy Hour offered daily from from 4 PM – 7 PM on Main Stage show nights for ticket holders.

The Veranda Lounge’s charming, intimate live music space allows patrons to connect with lesser known, but no less talented, local artists in a way that just isn’t possible in large, crowded venues. Sit back with drinks in hand and let the music take you away.

The Fabulous Armadillos
The Fabulous Armadillos are one of Central Minnesota’s most popular bands. Across a variety of genres, they cover classic songs and often host themed performances showcasing tunes from specific eras.
Granite City Radio Theatre
Granite City Radio Theatre is hosted at Pioneer Place and broadcast live by KVSC. The show is hosted by Jay Terry and features the Shades Brigade radio drama, Dan Barth’s trivia challenge, and the Collective Unconscious house band. The show is made possible by a grant from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
